Today, I’m proud to publish an exciting new installment for Source Gaming’s Straight from the Source series. While many people may not think of Jordan Sweeto as a hardcore Super Smash Bros. fan, his love for the series is extremely apparent. I first became associated with Jordan Sweeto when he tweeted out support for Krystal in Source Gaming’s polls. I believe this interview will help show that the fandom is made up of all kinds of people and not just the stereotypical ‘fan’. Let me know what you think either on Twitter, or in the comments below!  –PushDustIn

As some of our readers may be unaware of who you are, could you please introduce yourself?

My name is Jordan Sweeto and I’m a musician/personality who uploads many videos including letsplays on Youtube.

How has gaming impacted you?

Gaming has always been a big part in my life, particularly Nintendo. I’ve been enjoying playing games such as Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart, the Super Mario games and many more since I was very young.

My passion for video games has led me to create my own gaming content on Youtube and work with big names in the industry such as Ubisoft.

What was is your first ‘gaming’ memory?

My first gaming memory was watching my cousin play Super Mario 64 back when I lived in Canada. I remember thinking how amazing it was seeing a completely unique and new world right in front of me on the television. Video games in my opinion are an experience that cannot be matched.

What is your most memorable gaming experience?

My most memorable gaming experience would have to be playing Yoshi’s Story as a kid. Something about the bright colors and happy tone of that game has stuck with me throughout the years. It’s still one of my favorite games to this day. Yoshi is awesome!

Has video games influence your music in any way?

Video games definitely have influenced my music in a way. I tend to create stories in my head and write lyrics around them. Video games have inspired many stories I’ve come up with, Kingdom Hearts being a great example.

I’ve even gone as far as to write a song inspired by Sora and Kairi’s relationship and the desire to find a love you’ve lost.

What is your favorite Pokémon, and why?

That’s a really hard question! One of them would have to be Fennekin, it’s just adorable and a fire type (which is my favorite). Win, win!

What is your favorite Super Smash Bros. game, and why?

My favorite Super Smash Bros game would have to be Brawl, though Smash Wii U is a close second! The amount of hours me and my friends put into Brawl is insane. I feel like the gameplay, roster and addition of the Subspace Emissary really made Brawl stand out for me as my favorite Smash title.

What is your opinion on the Super Smash Bros., series?

Super Smash Bros is amazing in my opinion because it can appeal to such a wide variety of players. It can be picked up by someone very inexperienced with video games or a hardcore gamer, they will both have a blast!

I’m not too interested in fighting games as a whole but Smash Bros manages to be one of my all time favorite game series. It just stands out from the rest and with it’s incredible Nintendo character cast I can see why.

What characters do you enjoy playing as?

My favorite characters to play as in Super Smash Bros are Ness and Fox.

Ness is extremely unique and I’ve been playing as him since the 64 days. His psychic abilities make him a very strong fighter.

I also love Fox because of his speed and ability to overwhelm opponents with different combos and his quick/strong attacks!

You have been a very strong supporter of Krystal’s inclusion in Smash, often retweeting fan polls and encouraging your fans to vote for her. Why do you want Krystal in Smash Bros.?

I have wanted Krystal in Smash since the pre-Brawl days. I’ve always thought she would be such a fun and unique character using her magic staff from Star Fox Adventures. Her inclusion to the Smash roster would also be very refreshing as she would bring a completely different play-style from the other Star Fox characters represented.

She was considered by Sakurai back when Brawl was being made so I hope her chances of becoming a DLC character remain high, she is a very popular choice.

Are there any other characters that you would like to see in Smash Bros.?

I would also love to see Rayman or Shantae become playable fighters in Smash. They would both bring something very unique to the game!

What characters do you think are likely to be added to Smash Brothers as DLC?

Personally I think the most likely characters to be added as DLC would be Dixie Kong, Isaac from Golden Sun and Wolf.

Like everyone though, I do hope we could get more!

What video games are you excited for?

I’m extremely excited for the new Legend of Zelda game for Wii U. I’ve been a fan of the series for a while now and can’t wait to see what they do with this new entry!

  2. Not gonna lie, I would really like Krystal to join Smash one day. What kind of Rare fan would I be if I didn’t want her?!
