It is time for our Rate That Character Round Up again! Who’s left to rate? Only god and Sakurai knows, but let’s get into the Rating Battle, shall we?
First, EpicMartin wants to talk about a certain Skeleton Fighter…
Verdict: “When it comes to Sans joining the fray, there is certainly a lot of baggage. While he has the advantage of being from a character-based game with tons of backstory and having his game released on a Nintendo platform… Sans, unfortunately, is in the same predicament as every other indie character… maybe even more so. Sans, unfortunately, suffers from not having the traits that make up the third-party cast. Iconic status, impact in gaming history and is not the main protagonist of his series.
Overall, it will certainly be an uphill battle for this skeleton to even… join the fray.”

Next, we have a lovable father-figure from the MOTHER-series (more well-known as Earthbound but just let me have the pun-game here). Does Flint have any chances, to be a good father to the Smash Brothers? TheHenriGames looks at his chances!
Verdict: “At the end of the day, Flint’s true potential might be a bit too far out for Nintendo to see. So it’s sad to say the chances of Flint making it are not that great.”

And lastly, Zedi goes over the chances of 2B, the protagonist of NieR’s most successful game in the series and PlatinumGames’ latest success story. Will this be enough for 2B to be included in Smash?
Verdict: “2B is a really cool character who could be an amazing character in Smash Ultimate and bring even more attention to her franchise making her a much more valuable asset to Square Enix. But she’s just not as iconic as other square characters and is especially new as a character under their name. As much as I’d like to see what she can bring to smash I think her future looks as grim as the humans of her world..”

Been busy for a while, mostly at work. So I may be late for this, but I’ll comment anyways.
Sans: Even Undertale has become a fan favorite (or cultish in other word) game, and even the game has been announced to be released for Switch, Sans’ inclusion is definitely a big no-no to this case. This is why I don’t understand why people prefer him to join Smash so badly. I know it’s meant to be a joke, but I still see people taking things so seriously for his inclusion, which is so meaningless. I do see Sans is too OP according to the actual game, which I do see this is the major reason for people wanting him for Smash, because they want an extremely OP character to cheat the game so easily, and I don’t prefer to have such character in Smash as it’s ultimately boring. While we already know that Indie games have a chance to join Smash thanks to Shovel Knight’s inclusion as an Assist Trophy, I doubt Sans even have a bit of chance to join at all.
Flint: This may be shockingly surprising, but I wouldn’t see him become a playable fighter in Smash. While I know he was playable during the tutorial in MOTHER 3, I don’t see him being more important than Lucas who’s a major protagonist of the game, as tutorial characters doesn’t last long than the major protagonist’s role. I don’t even see him becoming an Assist Trophy either, which I do sense Duster might have that role instead. So if lucky, maybe we’ll see him as a showcase trophy instead.
2B: As I said many times before, I don’t think popularity is the only criteria to join Smash as history is more important as well, and even 2B may be so popular, I do agree that she’s not iconic as a Square Enix character. If Square Enix tend to bring someone to Smash, then that’ll be somebody from Dragon Quest instead since that game is the major Square Enix title alongside Final Fantasy, mostly on the Enix side. Furthermore, I don’t see her chances of joining Smash at all.
Well I have a few potential echos
I haven’t been keeping up with all the characters so forgiven me if I suggest a double
Roll (mega man)
Yarn Yoshi (Woolly World)
Hilda (Zelda)
