Rare workers and spin-offs are what confirm Cranky is the original one, I’ll only accept if Miyamoto (the original creator) says it or it’s acknowledged in a recent DKC game. : P
Coincidentally, a new Donkey Kong 3DS theme came out today. So, to answer Sakurai’s question, no, Donkey Kong is not obsolete.
