Discussion on Sakurai’s Post DLC Interview LOTS OF NEW INFO!

Discussion on Sakurai's Post DLC interview

As most of you know by now, a new Masahiro Sakurai interview has been released via Nintendo Dream magazine. You can find part one of this interview here.  Please note that this is a substantial 7 page interview, and as such, our team wants to spend an appropriate amount of time in translating the content the right way. It is more important for us to be right then to be first. Remember, the Source Gaming Staff provides these interviews out of our love for the series, and we do not actually receive any profit from the site. If you would like to see more translations from our team in the future, contributions to our Patreon are appreciated as they allow us to fund our process…. Nintendo Dream magazines don’t buy themselves!

Parts 2 and 3 of the interview, in their entirety, will be featured on the site tomorrow. In the meantime, please enjoy this overview and discussion of the interview as provided by Masked Man, PushDustIn, and Nantendo. In this video the Source Gaming team will review everything that Sakurai had to share with Nintendo Dream, including information you won’t find translated anywhere else!

Here is our full discussion on the brand-new Sakurai Nintendo Dream interview. He goes over making the DLC and highlights all of the DLC in Smash. We translated the interview and picked out the parts we thought were the most interesting.

Video Content Lead at Source Gaming
If video game historian was a career that would be my goal in life. I have spent a lot of my life studying various histories and so I am super familiar with sourcing, which is pretty essential for this site and just a good thing to do in general so you do not spread lies. I have a huge fascination with the old days and ips with Nintendo. There is so much potential for old franchises like Balloon Fight, Marvelous, Nazo no Murusame Jo and more to come back in the modern age. At least Smash celebrates those games! My focus for source gaming are the Dream articles and working on Project Omega. I hope you enjoy reading my work.

    1. Basically, he tried getting him but it couldn’t happen. Trying to decide if I should add him to plan or considered in the Definitive Unused Fighter List.

      1. That’s actually really cool. With Square Enix being involved with Smash 4 now and possibly future Smash installments, he should be much easier to get now.

Another thing to is you guys could possibly ask Sakurai about that during his Q&A stream on March 10 (provided he is willing to answer those types of questions or not) to really see if Geno was actually planned or just another considered fighter.

Anyways, it’ll be interesting to see if anything is unearthed during that stream.

  1. I would really listen to the full discussion if it was not soooo long and slow :(. Also, not even background music. I really prefer written articles. You guys write very well.

  2. I still don’t buy all the Corrin excuses. Everybody should know by now that Sakurai is in love with the series. He could have made a Goomba “unique” if he wanted to.

The Saffron City Pokemon were Charmaner, Venusaur, & Chancey.

    1. Preach to the choir.
Seriously, I hate Corrin. I think I’ll make a death reel of Corrin to make my relax every now and then.
