After Smash 64 was released, Sakurai opened the Smash 64 website. There, he regularly updated the page with interesting tidbits about Smash 64 development, and answered fan questions. I realized that most of these fan responses have not been compiled, nor translated. So I decided to start translating them for the community. I’m amazed about how much we still can learn about the series. I’ve kept the original Japanese for reference, and for readers fluent in Japanese who may want to check my translation. Comments by me will be made in orange.
Translated the interesting parts. Will eventually come back to it.
こんなに面白いんだから２も作りましょう。How about Misty? I know she’s not a protagonist.
So, I guess she doesn’t have a good chance.
I thought of some special moves for her.
Look at them, and if you think they are good please use them (If you can, as a hidden character).
1. Pokemon Get
She throws out her Pokeball. The enemy that gets hit, goes inside the Pokeball. (Somehow other things besides of Pokemon can go in.)
The characters that are in the Pokeball can’t move (Just like Yoshi’s egg). If the Pokeball doesn’t hit anyone, a different character can pick up and throw it.
First she takes out a Pokeball. When she’s about to throw it, a Psyduck comes out running. He doesn’t just run, but he does a set amount of damage (He can also damage you).
3. Togipi Attack
Togipi comes out. Togipi has a 1/10 chance of shaking their fingers. If they don’t shake their fingers, nothing happens. However, if they shake their finger they copy a different Pokemon’s move.
As for the sequel, I’m a fan of the popular Sheik (Legend of Zelda: OoT). If you add him, I would be really happy.
For his weapons (In according with the illustration) would be a small sword. His special moves could use the harp to warp (with rhythm). The taunt could show his true form (I’m not sure if you can include spoilers in the game)…how about it?
In addition, I’d like a Fire Emblem character. I would really like a horse-riding character (The taunt alone would be amazing)
PushDustIn is the founder and administrator of Source Gaming. Being obsessed with the history and development of games isn’t easy. Building a reputation on his research, translations, and article write ups, PushDustIn fully encapsulates the meaning of a 'data-miner'. PushDustIn has studied Japanese for over six years, and has lived in Japan for over four. The name PushDustIn comes from a garbage can in Osaka (Push Dust In). He lives with a very spoiled cat named Kuma.
