This is based on the What Characters Are Likely for the Next Smash?
Neo Zero and PushDustIn discuss the choices, and give their own thoughts on the characters in great detail. The discussion in total was 1 hour 30 minutes, so we decided to split it up into two 45 minute discussion videos. The next part will be posted soon!

Man, can we get any Custom Robo love?
at this point i’d take a mii costume…
Minor error, but Rhythm Heaven did eventually receive two (long overdue) songs with the release of the Miiverse stage, Blue Birds and Monkey Watch. Its also worth mentioning that there was a Rhythm Heaven enemy in Smash Run, I believe it was the only Nintendo enemy in that mode not originating from a series that had playable charterers in smash (apart from the reused subspace enemies). Still, kinda weird they didn’t get more than that considering its been one of Nintendo’s more successful new IPs in recent years (to my knowledge anyway) and is still getting new entries.
Added an annotation. Thanks!
Nice discussion. I wanted Karate Joe instead of the Chorus Men, as I feel he’s more of a representative of the series, with a Game & Watch like moveset where his moves would reference the other (mini)games, maybe because he’s humanoid his alts could even be other humanoid characters from the series, and maybe, idk if that’s crazy but, I think it would be really cool if the characters overall speed/agility on moves depended on the -music- that was playing in the background, like, a faster song would make him more faster and it would be indicated by the rhythm of his “head bopping”, and a slower song would make him slower, but stronger, that would make him very “replayable” because of the surprise factor of the random song, however, I’m not sure what he would do if the person disabled the music… lol. While Chorus Men’s moveset would probably be forced to rely a lot on the fact they’re 3 people instead of focusing on the other minigames.
There’s a little error at 42:38 xD
Thanks for letting me know about the error. I have to figure out what’s causing it, because it also happened in the next video I’m posting 🙁
Isaac is my top 1st/2nd party pick and Rayman for 3rd party
With Kingdom Hearts there is Disney to consider too.
Mario really should get at least one give Fire Emblem’s representation.
I wouldn’t mind to see a Tales Of character in smash. Cress, Lloyd, Luke, Yuri, or even someone from Tales of Berseria would be interesting. Seeing the Mii costume of Lloyd got me hyped that a Tales series character was recognized.
1st party definitely would love to see a rhythm heaven character like Karate Joe or a golden sun like issac.
I kind of see a Fatal Frame rep coming out of nowhere. It’s quite a significant Nintendo franchise.
As for K. Rool, I still have no opinion about him. Cool if he’s in, won’t lose sleep if he’s not. Same goes with Dixie. I guess I just don’t have that much of a connection to the Donkey Kong series to feel strongly about its characters. Geno, on the other hand, I would like to see in Smash. Of these three, I think Dixie is the most likely, but I recognize the other two as being possible.
I don’t think Toad is possible for Smash, he’s too generic of a character. Captain Toad, on the other hand, is more unique, and would give Sakurai more to work with in order to flesh out a full character.
(I wrote this part before I read the comments and found out someone already mentioned this, my bad! But it’s still a thought I had, so I’d like to keep it in this comment) One more thing that people seem to forget about Rhythm Heaven’s representation in Smash: the Sneaky Spirits are enemies in Smash Run. The only other enemies in Smash run that appear from series that never had a playable character in Smash are Bacuras and Pookas, but both are Namco enemies and can sorta be tied to Pac-Man. That being said, I just cannot picture a Rhythm Heaven character in Smash, I don’t know how one would work. I’d totally love to see how it would work, but otherwise, I’m not creative enough to picture a fighter from the series.
I don’t really care about Toad getting into Smash, but there’s no way Captain Toad should get in over him. A character that’s been around for 30 years getting shafted for a similar character that’s only been around for nine and only started being playable three years ago? No thanks.
