Hello, welcome back!
If you are new to this series of articles, I recommend you to read the first two ones, because there I explain all the mess you will see below.
Part 1: How many Characters will be in the next Smash? A hypothesis.
Part 3: Potential Characters for the Next Smash Roster– Part 2. Covers Donkey Kong, Metroid, Kirby, and Star Fox
Part 4: Potential Characters for the Next Smash Roster– Part 3. Covers F-Zero, MOTHER, Kid Icarus, Retro, and New Wave characters
Part 5: Potential Characters for the Next Smash Roster– Part 4. Covers Mii Characters and 3rd Party Characters
If you are ready to continue, let’s explore more worlds and characters.
Editors Note: Remember, next page is below “related articles”. I’ll be adjusting that later this week so it’s a bit easier to see.
The franchise that kickstarted the Nintendo video game empire. For this analysis I separate it from the Super Mario franchise because the Donkey Kong Country series has more “weight” than the other two Super Mario Spin offs. Anyways, in Super Smash Bros. we got Donkey Kong, then in Brawl we got his companion, Diddy.
The trend has show that we get one character every two iterations, but for some, this franchise has been underrepresented, because unlike other franchises, there are more playable characters and people are vocal in their need for more representation than the two Kongs, so getting two more characters seems appropriate.
K. Rool: The kovetous king of the kremling krew (sorry). He is fast and strong, but to compensate that, he would move like a brick in the air. But don’t underestimate him by keeping your distance, he has a lot of tools to conquer the battlefield, like his boomerang crown and his Cannonballs – Vacuum gun. And he won’t forget his helicopter backpack to recover and his boxing gloves to deliver some hard punches.
Dixie Kong: As I repeated this for other characters, she might seem like an easy clone for Diddy, but she has something that Diddy don’t, her ponytail. That can make her work well in the air, and with a hair whip that can hit and grab her enemies with great range.
Cranky Kong: The OG Kong may be old, but he still has some moves. mainly with the help of his cane, he could go full Scrooge on his enemies, spiking them with a pogo motion, launching them with a swing, and giving them a lecture before sending them to their beds without desert.
Lord Fredrik: As the newest rival to the Kong family, he has the power of the ice to his disposition. But as with Ridley, he is HUGE, even making DK look small. But if he gets downscaled he might become a fast and jumping wrecking walrus.
Dixie and Kiddy: Dixie was planned to be paired with Diddy as a tag-team for Brawl, to represent their playstyle in Donkey Kong Country 2. This time she might work the same way as planned, but with her companion from DKC3, Kiddy. Being able to change between each other to perform their normal attacks, like a “semi-transformation” because their specials will depend on both of them, like the hair-copter as a recovery, and rolling as a chargeable neutral special, being down special their swapping move. It might seem hard to implement, but if you like the idea, I can make a “Dream Smasher Analysis” of it (or of any other character if you like to read more about my ideas, just tell me in the comments bellow).
Mains: Yoshi (64), Game and Watch (Melee), Wario (Brawl), Wario/Pac-Man (Smash for 3DS/Wii U)
